The Infrastructure Lead is a critical leadership and hands-on technical role responsible for the architecture, deployment, scaling, security, and high-availability of SITC’s complete hosting and network ecosystem. The role owns the physical servers, virtualization hypervisors, software-defined networks, and cloud integrations that power mission-critical software systems for the Government of Sindh.

This role demands a seasoned systems architect who can comfortably cross-coordinate between internal teams, third-party technology vendors, and public-sector data center administrators. The Infrastructure Lead ensures that provincial applications remain online, highly performant, resilient to natural disasters or cyber threats, and built on scalable, cost-efficient hardware and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Own and direct the overall design, maintenance, and long-term scaling of SITC’s on-premise, cloud, and hybrid enterprise infrastructure environments.
Lead the deployment, configuration, and virtualization architecture (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V) across SITC-managed environments and designated Government of Sindh data centers.
Oversee system administration, storage area networks (SAN/NAS), operating system lifecycles (Linux/Windows Server), and core directory services (Active Directory, LDAP).
Design, implement, and regularly test comprehensive High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies to guarantee minimal downtime and absolute data integrity.
Manage relationship and SLA negotiations with ISP partners, hardware vendors, cloud providers, and data center host teams to safeguard high uptime and fast-response maintenance.
Enforce rigorous security baselines across servers, network routing equipment, load balancers, and firewalls in direct coordination with the Cybersecurity Division.
Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity utilization, and system logs, producing forward-looking capacity planning reports to optimize hardware investments.

Required Skills & Competencies

Exemplary experience in designing and running large-scale, high-availability enterprise server and storage architectures.
Expert-level knowledge of networking protocols, routing (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, VPNs, Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), and physical-to-virtual network designs.
Deep command over Linux and Windows Server administration, enterprise-class virtualization platforms, and software-defined storage solutions.
Proven leadership and vendor management capabilities, with the ability to orchestrate multi-vendor SLA commitments and direct junior technical resources.
Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills, particularly when troubleshooting complex infrastructure or network performance degradation.

Qualification & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an HEC-recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum of 6-8+ years of progressive technical experience in IT infrastructure, network engineering, or systems architecture, including at least 3 years in a direct leadership or supervisory capacity. Extensive experience working with public-sector provincial data centers is a massive advantage.
Certifications: Highly recognized certifications such as CCNP/CCIE (Cisco), VCP/VCAP (VMware), MCSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent credentials are strongly preferred.
